I wanted to capture the dramatic arc of the clouds diving towards the mountains over Horseshoe Bay at the beginning of the journey between North Vancouver and Nanaimo.

One of the best and most familiar sights from a ferry crossing is the way the layers of blue mountains from different islands and landforms overlap.

I loved the way this wall of nature transitions from the texture of the rock to the trees growing out of it, forming a solid barrier that’s bisected by the light.

The view from a seaplane over the Strait of Georgia, where the Fraser River filters all of its silt into deeper water. I love the way the sun casts cloud shadow over the ocean and penetrates the water.
